This week on Bubble Wrap we focused on new music again with no particular theme in mind. There were a few chestnuts in there — accordion virtuoso Brent Buswell’s Pennsylvania Polka provided a rousing opening. In honor of hurricane Matthew, we tossed in Hurricane by Crooked Fingers, a perennial favorite of mine. We enjoyed a new release by a guy named Maurizio Bianchi called Ynohpmys (Symphony) whose sonic explorations reminded us of Chessie and so we played some of that too. Chris played selections from Stevie Wonder, A-Mac DZ, Yung Bae and Bootsy Collins. The cover of the week was an unusually bizarre version of Magical Mystery Tour that seemed to be more based on the original than attempting to duplicate it.
